CANADA EXPRESS ENTRY INVITES APPLICATIONS WITH PROVINCE NOMINATION IN 22 JULY DRAW

Express Entry candidates with Canada provincial nomination were invited in the new Express Entry round of invitations.  In the 22nd July Canada Express Entry draw for immigration to Canada, about 557 candidates were issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA). The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off threshold for this draw was 687 points. The tie-breaking rule was dated 11th November 2019.

The express entry draw for this was restricted to candidates with Provincial Nominations, meaning that only candidates who have been nominated through a Canada PNP program were considered for selection. This PNP-specific draw specifies that Express Entry may be taking a cross and flexible approach to draws in a continued response to COVID-19. Canada Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates remain to be invited as well to permit provinces to meet their labour market requirements.

It’s understood that this draw recommends that IRCC may alternate between all-program and program-specific draws throughout the health crisis of Covid-19 pandemic.

PROGRAM-SPECIFIC DRAW FOR PROVINCIAL NOMINEES: This Program-specific draws suggest that Canada Express Entry isn’t quite back to normal since COVID-19 turned into a public health crisis in Canada and around the world.  Immigration, Refugees, Citizenship Canada (IRCC) had been limiting draws to candidates from either through Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) or Canadian Experience Class Program(CEC). Still, on 8th July the Express Entry returned to all-program draws for the first time in more than four months. This week’s draw overturned that trend, returning to a program-specific draw for provincial nominees.

During the health crisis Immigration, Refugees, Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has restricted most draws to candidates in Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) as these candidates are in Canada.

PREVIOUS DRAW:  The Canada Express Entry draw of 8th July 2020 was an all-program draw,  where the candidates in the Canada Federal Skilled Worker Program(FSW) and Federal Skilled Trades (FST) programs were considered for selection on the 8th July 2020 Express Entry draw for immigration to Canada, 3,900 candidates were issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) and the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off threshold for this draw was 478 points

This draw suggests that IRCC may take a sort of mixed approach to Express Entry applicants as it attempts a return to normal: conducting some all-program draws and some program-specific draws. While the COVID-19 health crisis remains under control in Canada, the global situation remains unbalanced and reactions may continue to resound throughout Canadian immigration.

CANADA MULTI-YEAR IMMIGRATION PLAN FOR 2020, 2021, 2022 Canada is in the process of achieving its Express Entry target of 85,800 ITA's in 2020, with 54,357 ITAs issued till date for this year and compared with 45,400 at this time last year in 2019.

Canada is set to bring in more than 1 million new immigrants over the next three years, with an yearly intake that might reach as high as 390,000 in year 2022.
