EB5 VISA - EXTENSION TILL 7TH DECEMBER T0 APPLY ON THE PREVAILING INVESTMENT AMOUNT
Prospective applicants wishing to apply for permanent residence visa to USA through EB-5 visa can benefit from the extension time given upto 7th December 2018 according to the existing scheme. This may help many prospective applicants to take benefit of the usual investment requirements of US $1 million or half a million dollars in quantified target areas.
For the first time, the number of EB-5 visas allotted to Indians has risen by 93% with 174 visas being allotted during 2017 fiscal. Giving to latest official figures of the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) during October and November 2017, the first two months of 2018, 307 prospective applications were pending from India.
About 10,000 EB5 visas are issued worldwide with 7% country cap orelse 700 per country. The EB-5 programme allots green cards / permanent residency for the applicant and family members in exchange for their investments and an undertaking to create atleast 10 American jobs.

The present US Government wishes to revise the laws in the coming months as there have been many controversies to include several investor-related funds not been properly invested in approved projects and not meeting the investment norms. Therefore, the present Government has drafted a bill which will propose to hike the minimum threshold investment limit to $1.8 million and $1.35 million for investments.
A conditional permanent residence status is granted to the investor and the family members (spouse and children unmarried and below 21 years) are eligible to apply.
