On 1st May 2019, under Express Entry 3,350 applicants have been invited to apply for Permanent Residence visa to Canada.
The Government of Canada conducts Express Entry draw twice a month, or every 15 days. Applicants with minimum cut-off points will be invited to lodge permanent residence application to Canada. If more than one candidate has the cut-off, then the selection will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
The cut-off points as on 1st May 2019 draw was 450 points, which is one point lower than the minimum score in the previous draw on 17th April 2019, which was 451 points.
The minimum cut-off for CRS score and the time between Express Entry draws keep varying.
The Express Entry pool has applicants for Canada’s Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class. The above are three of Canada’s primary economic immigration categories and contributes the highest part of economic class immigrants each year.
Counting the draw of 1st May 2019, the number of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued to Express Entry candidates in the year 2019 comes to 31,250. This count is ahead of the number of ITAs issued in 2018, where the year 2018 saw Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) creating new Express Entry ITA record of 89,800 invitations issued in a single year.
The growing number of invitations shows the increasing admissions targets for the above mentioned three Express Entry-managed programs, which are established to increase annually between 2019 and 2021.
It is likely that the minimum CRS score could be further reduced if Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) holds larger or more regular draws for this year 2019.
