USCIS PROPOSES TO IMPROVE INVESTOR EB-5 VISA SCHEME FOR US IMMIGRANTS
Lately, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has proposed major improvements for USCIS Immigrant Investor Program, the EB-5 Program. This should lead to faster processing of immigrant investor applications for applicants to qualify under this scheme.
Immigration visas are obtainable for about 10,000 immigrants each year under the EB-5 Investor Scheme. An applicant can lodge and come under EB-5 Investor Scheme if the applicant can create minimum 10 job and invest USD 500,000 targeted Employment areas or Rural areas.
EB-5 Program was created to attract investors and entrepreneurs from around the world to create employment opportunity in United States of America.
Three important amendments have been recommend by USCIS for processing the EB-5 Regional Center applications:
1. USCIS gives priority for projects of applications that will bring employment opportunity and investment funds into the country. If the applicant meets the requirements, the applicant will also be given the opportunity to apply for Premium processing that will incur an additional fee and the application will be processed on fast track within 2 weeks from the date of lodgment.
2. USCIS prefers to make arrangement to setup a group of members with know-how in economic analysis and the requirements of the EB-5 immigrant investor scheme. It is hoped that this will mean that it will be possible to quickly contract with any issues relating to an application.
3. USCIS also proposes to speed up on decisions and make a quick decisions on EB-5 Regional Center applications that are lodged. Also it is been advised that an attorney can be towards assisting on the decisions made by the Board.
