Students coming to the UK under a Tier 4 visa require a university or other qualified UK educational institution to sponsor them. The student should score enough points to be accepted as an international student in the UK. The requirements on point system works for Tier 4 requires a student attending a course at an acceptable level with an approved educational institution and Funds to cover course fees and cost of living. Under the current rule visa is granted for an initial period which is dependent on the length of the course that an application chooses. In general, a Tier 4 student can stay in the UK for the length of the course plus 4 months (for courses lasting a year or more) or one or two months (for courses between six months and a year). A student is allowed to work 20 hours while school is in session and 40 hours during holidays. International students have special immigration options available upon graduation under the new points based system to qualify. A student graduate from an eligible UK educational institution can apply for a Tier 1 visa under the Post-Study Work sub-category. This will allow international graduates to remain in the UK for two years. Once completing their period under Post-Study Work can move into another sub-category or tier.
